I would describe my skill level as:

Advanced - I've been a racer for awhile, I'm able to help teach others about racing or sailing.

My racing experience:

I've been racing for about 10+ years in So Cal, both symmetrical and asymmetrical boats. I primarily do upwind/downwind jib and spin trim, pit, or mast, but, I have experience on main and bow (and at the helm 🙂 ). I buoy race several times a week and participate in many of the offshore/near shore races throughout So Cal. I have sailed Farr 40s for 10 years and currently manage a Farr 40 and a Class 40 for US Patriot Sailing in LA Harbor, which is a program to provide sailboat racing opportunities to military members and veterans. I frequently sail J/105s, J/111s, J/70s, B-25s and a Left Coast Dart, B-29s, up to 60+ foot asymmetrical boats. On the symmetrical side, besides Farr 40s, I have experience ranging from the darling of Marina del Rey, the Martin 242s 🙂 , Hobie 33s, Express 37s, among others. I'm a strong supporter of women's sailing, having won the all-women's class in the Woman on the Water/Woman on the Helm Regatta in Marina del Rey last year on a J/111, and chairing the race this year while also entering the US Patriot Sailing Farr 40 as a co-ed (Woman on the Helm) team. I've participated in the Linda Elias Memorial One Design Regatta for many years on the Catalina 37s in Long Beach, and was part of the crew of winning team "Allie's Cats" last year. I've sailed J/105s for a few events recently in SF and really hoping to network with participants to sail more in Northern California. Definitely hoping some Red Bra Regatta participants will venture down next month for LEMWOD or next year for WOW/WAH!

My availability for practice prior to the regatta is:

Flexible. I do live in Los Angeles, but, I can come up early. Please let me know!
