I would describe my skill level as:

Intermediate - Moderate experience, but I want to learn a new position or get better at my current position.

My racing experience:

My sailing teacher is Karima Cherif and she used Las Brisas for years in the Red Bra Regatta. The only time I raced in it was 2021. We were in the non spinnaker division.

I am a First Mate. Open to whatever, just want to be a part. I can tack, gyb, pilot, park, moor, attempt to fix things that break along the way, can be in the hull while going (have no sea sickness).

We sailed from Ballena Bay in Alameda to South Shore Harbor for the race and I had the highest knots when piloting. When our key broke off in the ignition on the way home I spent an hour trying to get that thing out at times sitting on my belly while we tacked in the crazy wind. We ended up having to call vessel assist because it was just turned enough, and therefore seriously stuck.

She sold the boat and moved away about a year ago. I have one other friend who is also helping me learn but he is a male and has a similar size I believe it is a 32 foot Hunter.

Last year I requested to be on a team and did not get placed. I hope this year will be different. I am a valuable team mate and I am open to learning. Our team was small only three people Karima, Miri, and myself.

I hope there is a team out there for me this year.

My availability for practice prior to the regatta is:

I work for myself at this time and can be available anytime.
